Plain-English definitions of the main economic and market terms used across Open Market Rank. You should not need this page to read a ranking — if you do, tell us and we will fix the interface.

Real GDP growth
The percentage change in economic output after adjusting for inflation.
GDP per person

A broad measure of money that generally includes cash and commonly accessible bank deposits and savings instruments. Exact definitions vary between monetary authorities.
Market capitalization
The current price of an asset multiplied by its circulating supply.
